Need help applying a panel definition to a surface

I found myself stuck trying to apply the definition I developed to a surface of 24" in height and 48" in length to a surface that has divisions that are the same size as the original panel. The process I tried so far was to draw a curve that would be divided into segments 48" wide, extrude to 10' high and extract from it a curves to divide into equal segments of 24". I would ideally like to simplify this process as it seems tedious and long winded. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
