moving points of a divided surface random

Hi,

I have a problem with moving a list of points differently. I divided a surface, took its normal and moved the points along surface normals. I want to move them differently so I made a series and jittered the series. It works pretty fine but points movement are not different in U direction. I tried flattening them but it does not help at all. What am I doing wrong?
