Modelling Biomimicry for beginners

H there, 

Im relatively new to grasshopper having just started a module focusing on it at university. I've done so many online tutorials at this point but really struggling to transfer the knowledge into my own scripts.

I really want to model the flight path of a sycamore leaf which I've attached as we are producing forms inspired by nature. If anyone has any idea where I'd even start just to get this kind of form it would be very much appreciated. My initial guess would be some kind of helical polar array but still not sure how to model the sycamore pod itself.

Hi Aled - Here is a quick method for generating the helical polar array orient.... u still have to model the pod though and set it as the brep to orient. cheers - M
