Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

I hope you will be able to help. I'm sure there must be an easy solution to this and I am just not seeing it.

I am trying to create a volumetric mesh that encloses a set of lines (soon to be piped as I am trying to mimic shrink wrapping) but I cannot get the delaunay mesh to create an enclosed volume. The images below show what I am hoping to achieve, however I had to manually draw the volume mesh and under the mesh relax I am not sure how to make the lines enclosed within the relaxed mesh.

I have attached two files, one of the volume mesh and relax and the other showing my previous attempts at shrink wrapping but it is far too intensive on my computer and doesn't give the smooth tensile finish as shown in the image.

The plugin Starling has a convex hull component you can use to wrap around the lines' endpoints. You can then use Weaverbird's split triangles subdivision and relax it with Kangaroo. I've attached an example def.

Javier,

Thank you so much for this, its the perfect solution for my problem. Do you know of a way I may be able to make sure that the lines stay 'inside' the relaxed mesh?
