Measuring distances between panels

Hi All.

I have a panelised surface made up of a load of triangular glass panels on a double curved surface that have been optimised in their plane to try to maximise the amount of repetition. I now need to measure the distance between the panel vertices and it's closest neighbouring panel... so the vertice to the edge of it's neighbouring panel (see attached image).

Any thoughts on how this might be a achieved? I'm a little stumped at the moment... I've managed to isolate the group of nodes but that's as far as I've gotten..
