Map Pyramid onto Loft Surface then Point Pyramids to Attractor Points

Hey guys, as a first post I wanted to first thank everyone for the contributions to the forum and making this a great platform to learn GH.  Even simply through tweaking uploaded scripts I learned alot from here.

I just need some help with this script, which makes a pretty simple project:

Loft a surface, onto which create a grid.

Map a square based pyramid rhino object onto the interstices.

Point the pyramids towards an attractor point.

I think I have most pieces of the puzzle, but am just missing the final orientation.  After I feed the Orient Direction box I get a crazy monster, which projects AWAY from my lofted surface as well as scales my pyramids.

Can anyone please point out where I went wrong?  Thanks!

bump?  Does anyone have any tips on how to use Orient without changing the scaling or moving my object?

I don't see the same result as your image. What happens when you bake the Orient Component?

Hi Rafael,

have a look at the attached.

Edit: I also don't see the same result like in the image, just thought the problem woul be the orientation to the attractor point.

Best,

Martin.

i approached it a little different, see if this gives your desired result

hey guys thanks for all the input!  not just for the end product but for the clarity through which you arrived at your solutions!   i learned alot from this =)

Martin your solution was closest to the way I envisaged solving the problem.  thanks for improving on my script and showing me how i should've done it.  I think in the beginning I was actually trying to get to what John had created, where the edges of each pyramid actually touch each other and I was hoping to figure out a way of aligning them AFTER the pyramids were placed on the lofted surface.  Thanks for thinking outside of the box to create this elegant form John!

I'd buy you a guys a beer if I could but alas just a simple thank you will have to suffice for now.

your welcome
