Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

I'm wondering if there is a way to import a color map into a surface. Let's say I have done a stress analysis on a surface, and I want to import that map onto the surface in Grasshopper. How can I then do it?

My goal is to be able to to do a map on the surface, and then use the stress values for further optimization

Hi Timo,

how is the colour map defined? Is it a bitmap texture, is it a mesh with coloured vertices? Or...?

At this point I'm working with a bitmap texture.

The only way to import a bitmap into Grasshopper without using 3rd party tools is to use the Image Sampler, which requires the image to exist on the disk.

I'm trying to use the image sampler. Just not very useful as soon as the surface might be a triangle. Do you know any third party tool, that might be useful?

And thank you very much for your reply!
