Making holes in surface based on intensity image sampler

We would like to make holes in our surface based on the intensity of our image. We already created a surface with circles which we have become by filtering the blue,red and green colors. Now we would like to use the intensity of these circles to decide the places to make holes in our surface but we have no idea how to combinate those two things. One thing we also like to have fixed, is the format of our image. It must match with our surface we want to create, more specific : Lenght: 10*Pi meters and hight: 10 meters.
