Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I am trying to generate a series of simple closed lofts where each in the series is made from one undulating rail and one simple oriented rectangle profile. The loft fails on approximately 15-60% of the series depending on the parameters of the script and grasshopper doesn't seem to notice. The loft component does not throw an error but the geometry does not preview nor bake. The workaround was to bake the step before and then use Rhino to complete the lofts, which it had no problems doing. Please also let me know if there are any other fixes or improvements which I should implement into the script. I was aiming to produce a script that was useful generally, so please also let me know if you would like to see this script posted.

This is an annoying bug with closed rails sweep.

There is a workaround by providing a subcurve of the rail:

The rail is now an open curve, but so close to the original rail that you can't really see a difference in the sweep.

Edit: In your case there is no difference for the sweeps which didnt bug, but the "fixed" sweeps are not clean at start of rail. Sorry.

Thanks! This workaround was helpful.
