linking two galapagos together

hi everybody

i have a problem related to shortest distance between two curve.

for e.g , assuming two ellipses with a constant distance along x , and variable distance along y, how can determine the distance along y in a way that the shortest distance between them become a given value (L0).

i use rhino 4 , so there is no closestpoint function in the rhino SDK.

i thought maybe i should use galapagos to find the shortest distance , so the y distance is the genome and the solver finds the shortest distance between two curves which necessarily is not a favorite distance .

help me please
