Item Selector - Selection Reset

Hi,

So I'm attempting to use the Item Selector tool from the Human plug-in, however when I send it a new list my selection will reset to the 0 index even if that item still exists in the new list. 

Does anyone know why this happens / have another good approach to selecting items from a list by name (without typing it every time)?

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!
