Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Is there a less expensive way to do this? (Closest point on set of curves)

Hi All,

I'm building a structural model in Karamba and am shattering a series of curves around intersections with the intention of making smaller beam components that will join up. I've built a grasshopper file that does the trick but as I'm applying a set of elements to a grafted tree I get about five million points of intersection (not an exaggeration). This is really costly to my CPU, and I was wondering if there was a way to do it that would skip that part of the process. File is attached with the relevant section, and see photo below with the problem child highlighted in red. any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Henry
