interpolate curves in a set length

Hey guys, 

I want to join defined points on lines (which are orthogonal to a created surface) with an interpolate curve. As you can see in the picture I managed to do that, but the problem is, that I want all these interpolate curves to have the same length of 1.40m. So if the curves length is smaller, I want them to curve more. Does somebody know how to do that without scripting?

Another problem is, that some of these lines are on the right side of the surface and others on the left, depending on how the surface is curving. Right now I just counted the amount of lines and used a panel to divide them. But is there a smarter way to sort these two types?
