incident solar

hi everyone!

i am trying to use the definition by ted ngai "sun system irradiaton - current time" downloaded from here http://www.tedngai.net/experiments/incident-solar-current-time.html but i can't make it work... is there something easy that i am not considering?
i set the geometry but the colour of the mesh stays black, while the shadow calculation works fine.

Same problem with the "sun system irradiation - day". Here the mesh colour stays always blue, and all the data of the vector angles between the sun and the mesh's vertex normal are equal to 0...

I keep trying to load the definition but it keeps popping up a IO message???
