Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello,

I try to subdivide a surface, created in 3ds max into hexagons with grasshopper.

In Rhino I converted it into an open polysurface, sliced it and lofted the curves in GH. Due to te geometry, the loft failed, because the geomety divides int 2 directions.
I tryed to slice it with a horizontal plane but the loft failed as well.

The 2 "MESH TO SURFACE" groups in the script are parts from files i found in other discussions. Unfortunately the hexagon command from lunchbox cannot handle the output brep from the first script.

Do you know any way to bring a geometry like this into grasshopper without rebuild in grasshopper from scratch? This is just a testform, I'd like to replace it when the script is running.

Thanks for Your help

In Rhino, I used DrapePt, Patch and Split to create this surface. It's not ideal, but maybe it works for you?

Thank you very much David, but in Gh it looks like the surface "remembers" how it onece looked like before it was trimmed, or something like this.
