if windows runs out of memory would i need more RAM ?

Hi!

i sometimes get this error, "windows is out of memory and rhino will close bla bla bla"
i currently have (only) 2 GB RAM memory. should i get more in order to avoid this, or it doesn't have anything to do with it?

i checked the memory usage (from the task manager), and indeed, when i activate some heavier parts of the def, the number of kb used rises greatly (i.e. from 300 to 1500 or so). the weird thing is it doesn't reduce much after the computation is complete (only 15% or so of the peak value). i thought maybe displaying the new geometry keeps the numbers up, but i changed to "no preview" and the mem usage didn't decrease.
what could i do, both software and hardware-wise, to grease up my interaction with grasshopper (besides trying to use the least greedy components, that i already do/try) ?
