Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Does anyone else have trouble with multiple baked surfaces?

Here i've got a definition that creates a gridshell. I'm just trying to give the unbaked surfaces some thickness in GH, but the normals are all over the place!

The only method i've found so far is to bake the surfaces, manually sort the directions in Rhino, then offset surface to give the grid some thickness. Very tedious! The resulting geometry is a bit ropey too...

Anybody cracked this?

Can't you use the Flip component with a remote geometry surface guide?

Thanks David, that work perfectly. I hadn't realized i could assign a guide surface to help match all of the normals.

It also produced good geometry with closed polysurfaces as hoped for!

Thanks again...
