howto scale multiple objects with factor from image?

Hi there,

im almost completely new to rhino and gh.

my question is how to get scaling factors from an image's greyscales.

in this case i want to scale the edges more or less depending on a gradient.

gh screenshot:     gh.PNG

i hope my question is understandable.

thank you for any help!

You should set the sampling filter of the Image Sampler to Brightness, that way it'll output numbers rather than colours. Then those numbers must be plugged in the scaling input.

thanks for your reply.

it is set to brightness. but i also get an error from the image sampler saying

"floating parameter image failed to collect data".

do i need something between the image sampler and the scaling factor plug?

Well you need to sample at certain locations. So for every measurement you want to perform you have to provide a point (x & y in image space).
