How to make gradual change of Color Pattern

Hi there,

I found an interesting image with beautiful color gradient. I think it could be achieved by using two factors at the same time to control the gradient.

So I want to make two factors that affects the color pattern and at the same time make the change gradually. 

I've tried one script but the outcome is really bad :(
