How to find the Centerline of a wall

Hi Guys,

I can figure out a way to find the centerline of a wall when the wall is a continuous polyline, but in many cases the outlines of the walls are not that perfect(always with a tiny gap like the picture shown ),can anyone find a way to find the centerline even with the imperfect outlines of the wall?
