algorithmic modeling for Rhino

How do I offset a group of lines and then trim them toghether without doing it manually?

Hi! I'll attach some images to make my question more clear.

I need to offset a group of lines in order to widen them. As they offset, some intersect each other and others don't even touch. I don't know how to trim them correctly without baking and finishing the details with rhino.

I would like to be able to modify the offset distance and still get the same result.

I could really use some help!

Thankyou!

This wont fix all your problems, but you might try using Region Union to do your trimming.

The other stuff you mentioned would just take some sorting for short lines, cull those lines, projecting end points using unique vectors, shattering, culling, joining... yadda yadda yadda.

Maybe some one else will have a more straight forward suggestion.
