Hiding Excel dcoument in grasshopper plug in installer (or other suggestions!)

As part of the grasshopper plugin I am developing I would like to write to a pre-formatted excel document.

I have already tried generating the whole Excel document from code but its quite a painful process to get it looking 'nice'.

The ideal way to go about solving my problem would be to pre-format an excel document, hide it within the plug-in installer, then reference it from my 'writing-to-excel' component.

The pre-formatted excel file would be read only so the user would be forced to save the newly created version in a new location.

Is this trivial or complicated? How would I make sure that my 'writing-to-excel' component always knew where to look for the template excel file.
