algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi, i am very new to grass hoper and as an interior designer have been presented with the challenge of making a 3d hexagonal ceiling which will be around 200m long in the form of a cloud. I have got as far as producing the gradient image to form around and now need some help in turning this into a 3d ceiling. I attach the gradient image - what is the best way to move this forward?

I don't know if youre are still interested, but it was a quite good exercice for me to learn image sampler. So here is a first test with hexagon (not regular) size depending on the color. Big size = white, lower size = black. It is easy to flip. Model can be more smooth. 

First definition not optimized but if it helps someone ???
