Help with Sweep 2 rail for facade element

I'm trying to create a ETFE facade system for my building.
I have generated a series of breps using another script.
 
I now want to take those and create an elipsical shape that fits those forms.  I'm almost there with the script, but the final part doesn't seem to be working.
 
There are 2 problems - the final Sweep 2 rail doesn't seem to work properly,
secondly the radius of my elipse to sweep should be defined by the distance between 2 points on the Brep, but this seems to not be translating properly.
 
When im using the file, the lines are sometimes on the brep and sometimes not - this could be the problem?
Any help would be AMAZING.
