Help! Issue with opening Grasshopper files :(

Hello all,

I'm trying to open 2 Grasshopper files but having no luck.

One of the files reads a message error: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

I am a complete newbie to this computer package but from what I've been searching on the forums it may be because I do not have any additional packages which are used...and I have no idea how people can tell what add-ons are required...

And the other, I suspect is due to the file being saved in a newer version of Grasshopper, which I am unable to open as I am using previous version.

Can anybody PLEASE give me some advice on how I can possibly open these files, as it is hindering my research progress for my University studies. (It took me a day just to access these forums as my version doesn't include a Ning code! -.- )

I am using a school license (Educational Lab License) and I am unable to install a newer version unfortunately.
