Having trouble installing Python for Gx

New to Python and trying to get it going in Grasshopper.  I've gone through the same process of installing the gxPython component as I have with plugins in the past Kangaroo etc.  I have installed Python 2.7.10 on my machine, but it still isn't showing up when I open Grasshopper.  Any help is appreciated.
