Grid transformation with attraction point

Hello in 2013!! Happy New Year 

I start the year with one small question: 

I have one, non planar surface divided to point grid. I want to modify this grid with the attractor point for further designs. I'm trying with "fields" in vector section. It works actually but the problem is that offseted  points do not move over the "target surface" but in the surrounding of it. I'd like them to stay exactly on my surface to have the control. Is that possible when using "fields"? If not how tu make the attraction point moving effect for the grid?
