Gradient tool and shapes

Hello everyone i just need a quick favor. i am trying to figure out how to A) create a color grid on grasshopper and B) how to apply a series of shapes to said geometry. i am doing an architecture project where i have a brick facade, and i want to place a large amount of wood stripes to the exterior based on a gradient, so that in some places there are a lot of strips, some places it is covered. i have done some grasshopper in the past, but honestly i have no idea how to proceed. any and all help would be greatly appreciated. thank you.
