Mesh Gradience on Metaball Faces

Hello,

I used kangaroo/mesh relaxation to create these panels.

now i want to morph them onto the metaball, but with a gradual strength, with fuller panels on top and thinner panels on bottom (visualized below, but image was generated manually)

would it work via attractor points or could it be morphed separately 3 times? if so, How do i select different mesh faces on the ball as top, middle and bottom?
