Hi, something went wrong at my place after the installation of 0.7.0048. Lots of tools are missing, whatever I do (including restarting of the machine) they do not want to appear. Is it something obvious and I do not see it? Of course I was foolish enough to install it in the middle of something so now I am kind of lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
looks like the some of the GHA files are missing (*.gha files contain almost all of the components). Have you tried reinstalling to see if they come back?
I have just reinstalled it and the situation remains. I can see the GHA files dated 20.08.2010 in the components folder, but it looks like GH skips some contents of some of them while loading. Is this possible?
Weird... Grasshopper attempts to load all GHa files from the Components folder and any additional custom folders that are specified via the GrasshopperDeveloperSettings command window.
I added additional loading error trapping just now and I'll release 0.7.0049 within the hour. Maybe this will shed some light on the problem.

Hi
maybe try to deinstall it again and take a look @ C:\Program Files (x86)\Rhinoceros 4.0\Plug-ins\ . If there is still a Grasshopper folder delete it
After that install again
hope that helps
Have you installed any Grasshopper plugins? This same loading problem happens after I've installed StructDrawRhino and sometimes others. It goes back to normal after uninstalling the plugin.
Thanks a lot for all of the hints, the troublemaker was StructDraw. I have uninstalled it and all of the tools came gloriously back without any need for further action. I have posted Jon with this issue, hopefully he will respond soon since I am testing it (btw. Structdraw is a really good tool).
David, unfortunately I am not a programing person so I do not know if my wish is for future generations, but is there a way for GH to become immune of plugins that can for whatever reason cause trouble like in my case or some "hidden" trouble that cannot be detected by humans?
Thanks again.

Hi Hrvoje
Jon has already his new version online at his blog
you just have to check it frequently......
I am using SSI for Straus, the newest version I found at Jon's blog is dated 04.Aug - "the troublemaker". Let's wait until Jon responds then we will know more.
I'm not sure exactly what causes this problem. Typically reinstalling Grasshopper and then reinstalling my plug-in seems to fix this. The installer should not touch any non Geometry Gym files. I would suggest uninstalling (from control panel) structdrawRhino to see if it makes a difference. This did happen once on my own computer, and I will try to dig into it further to see what might be possibly causing this.
Note I will upload a new build of SSI for Straus by Monday next week. That particular version is certainly incompatible with the newest versions of Grassshopper due to the way I was inheriting from Grasshopper data structures.
you are absolutely right, Grasshopper should be able to load when there are problematic plugins. I just added some extra error trapping to the loading process, hopefully it will be a bit more robust now.
Once our internal server is working again I can release a new version.
I will give it a try with the "problematic" older version of Jon's SSI. Btw the new StructDrawRhino is not making trouble, sorry for the mess. I have uninstalled both of them (StructDrawRhino and SSI for Straus) and accidentally blamed the wrong one...
