Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone!
My partner Nazmul and myself are a part of a team at Cox Architecture, completing our honours year in Computational Design. Our focus is making computational tools more translatable to urban planning GIS platforms. We have made a plugin for converting geometry to GeoJSON (and back again) called Humpback (available for download at  http://www.food4rhino.com/app/humpback)

We are currently using it to quickly visualise massing of urban schemes on-the-go, but we would love to hear what you would use it for. GeoJSON is a popular file format for GIS platforms like ArcGIS, Aurin, QGIS and Mapbox. Mapbox what we have specifically developed the plugin for, as it supports the visualisation of 3D buildings using GeoJSON. A site where you can see your 3D GeoJSONS is here: https://madeleinejohanson.github.io/UrbanCoDe/. Just drag and drop your file onto the ‘drop building’ window in the right column.

We would love to know what the Grasshopper community thinks about this plugin, what design work you would/will use with it, suggestions for the future and of course any bugs that you may find. Humpback is still in its first version so there will be updates to come :)
Thanks!
Madeleine and Nazmul

That looks pretty nice. Unfortunately I got an error message about an unexpected token , in JSON at position 198 when I want to convert it to TopoJson. Actually it would be good to know if there is (any other) possibility to create TopoJson directly from GH?

thx.
