Geodesic Chair

Hi there!
I got to this website through searches in google for "geodesic curve".

I learn industrial design at H.I.T institute in Israel, I'm in my third year.

I am dreaming about designing a 'geodesic chair' using square/rounded aluminum bars. something that one could sit on since it will be made using a 3-4 cm long bars, a lot of them..

I know solidworks but barley rhino :(

my goal is to create the shape of the chair using curves, and then convert it to usable structure I could cut, build and weld.

I have access to 3d printer, so I could also make a geodesic joints, mold them and make them from aluminum as well.

I don't know how to proceed from here, I'm attaching a basic sample I make using solidworks 2009, maybe someone can teach me how to convert it to triangles  structure?
