Folding steel along laser cut dashed line

I'm thinking about folding channel sections from laser cut steel sheets. Does anyone have experience in doing so? If so any learning's I should be aware of?

Here a sample of what I'm looking to do (object and flat section with dashed line for folding).

I'm particularly interested in recommended dash patterns based on steel gauge.

FYI, the diagonal dashed lines are needed since the rectangle is not planar. Cross sections are trapezoids.
