Flower petals from 3D polar coordinates

Hi everybody

I've got some interpolated curves very similar to a flower shape and I was wondering if anyone could bring some ideas on how to generate the petal surfaces

I've been trying surface griding, all kinds of extrusions, lofting...but I dont seem to success. Any help will be much appreciated
