Extrusion Density Surface Pattern

I have started trying to create a pattern based off of the attached image, but I haven't been able to figure out how to control the extrusions in anything but a linear manner. They are all extruded to the same height. I want to extrude them in more of a curvilinear fashion. The parts that are denser to have the higher portion of the curved extrusions.

Any ideas?

Hi David,

If I understood you correctly, you want to control both cylinders base radius and it's height, by using Image sampler?
If that's so, then try this:


There is a Boolean toggle on the beginning of the definition ("Run definition"). Set it to "true" in order for definition to work.
