Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I have some colored text imported from an illustrator file. That is given. In Rhino I am transforming the text into surfaces, which also preserves the display color as seen in the image below:

Now I would like to extrude the text based on the color, similar to this (Blue results in a different extrusion distance than red):

I would like to avoid having to do this manually, as there are approx. 6000 letters (surfaces) to extrude.

Any suggestions how I could do this in Grasshopper or RhinoCommon?

I have colors through a gradient, so there are many colors.

I tested with Horster and it works perfectly, exactly what I needed!
