Extracting mesh

Hi there,

I'm a super-rookie at gh...

I'm trying to isolate the very top layer of the brep shown below and turn it into a mesh but I'm clueless how to do it, any ideas?

Yeah, I'm bloody terrible at explaining this stuff,

by "top" I mean the exterior faces that cover the "base" of the upside down pyramid,

hope that makes more sense and thanks for your advice
