Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello,

I am a new GH and Rhino user and would like to get some help.

I created a Voronoi diagram using GH (I created some points in Rhino and the diagram using GH) Now I am trying to export the diagram to abaqus. However, it seems that Rhino is not recognizing Voronoi diagram as an object. It cannot be selected and only the points (poles or 'centers') of the polygones can be selected.

Thank you in advance

Hi Akh,

none of the geometry made in Grasshopper is recognized by Rhino. Grasshopper maintains its own geometry database and draws that geometry in the Rhino viewports without Rhino knowing about it.

If you wish to make Rhino aware of this geometry, you'll have to bake it. There's a menu item for baking in both the Grasshopper main menu and the context menu of each component. The quickest way to bake geometry though is to select all components you wish to bake and then press the INSERT key.

Do note that geometry (once baked) becomes part of Rhino and loses it's association with Grasshopper. It will no longer update when the Grasshopper solution changes.

Excellent! thank you!

One more question, is it possible to fuse a diagram made using GH to a surface from Rhino. The diagram becomes a part of the surface.
