There is an option to Draw Full Names in the Display Menu of grasshopper 0.9+ or in the View menu of 0.8.xxxx

It will only work from that point on i.e. any new components will have the full names but any that are already present on the canvas will remain short

I just made it so that any component in the active document that has unmodified names will also be changed. Except of course script and expression components, who rely on exact naming.
