Evaluate Curves on a surface to populate with corresponding geometry

Hi Everyone!

I'm pretty new to grasshopper.  I am trying to analyze a surface and then populate it with 3d triangle wedges.  I want the wedges to vary in size and orientation based on the surface curvature, ie, if the surface is really curved in an area, populate this area with lots of triangles, if the surface is not curved, then there would be larger, bigger triangles. I want the geometry to be nested, so its actually buildable.

I have lunchbox, but that is only working to divide the surface, rather than analyze the surface's specific parameters.

Any suggestions?

Thank you all!

Jess

U can try with Kangaroo and MeshMachine tools. If u upload yout gh file we can approach your problem.

Hi! Jessica.

I think this definition might be a starting point of your further elaboration.

If you want to reculsively subdivide a surface according to it's curvature, you probably need C# or python coding.
