Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

I can't seem to get Geometry Cache component working. I bring it to the working area, connect it to any geometry component on the right (to be used for importing external geometry), add the name but when I press the Load Geometry button - nothing happens.

The component is in warning state, saying: 'Floating parameter test failed to collect data'.

I tried to load it on Rhino 4 SR9 and Rhino Version 5.0  (5.1.20918.2135, 09/18/2012).
Grasshopper 0.90012 and a few earlier version - still got the same result.

Any ideas how to bring it back to life?

(maybe something to do with Microsoft Runtimes..?)

Hi Tomas,

geometry cache is not made for importing named objects from the document. You'll need to use Geometry Pipeline for that. Geometry Cache is a two-step object that allows you to 'cache' your geometry by storing it in the Rhino document.

The cache on the left will bake the geometry to Rhino, the one on the right will load the geometry back into Grasshopper.

Excellent,
Thank you for shedding some light on this, sir.
