enum component

i guess this is directed at David . but i was wondering if in a future release there could be a enum type component where we can define text and a value for a list of values and there is a nice drop down menu that lets you select one of the values.  i tried quickly to program a component but  i do not have the greatest grasp of the UI for the components in Grasshopper and could not get create a drop down list.
