Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everybody,

I'm living in Madrid at the moment, and I would like to know if there are any ecotect courses round here, or even online.

By the way, I haven't already search for it, but could anyone give me a piece of advice about bioclimatic masters in Europe? I've heard the one in Madrid is not that good.
Thank you in advance

If you are interested in Ecotect check our grasshopper linkage (http://www.grasshopper3d.com/group/geco) and this link will for sure help you (http://wiki.naturalfrequency.com/)

if you need anything else we can also host a workshop about it.

Cheers,

Thank you uto,

I'm starting to use it but I'm having problems with the visualisation of the model: I always get a lot of polygons in ecotect. I have tried with a model generated in autocad, in sketchup, is it necessary to have a model made in grasshopper or rhino?

Dear estrellita*

the main workflow with such analysis software is to generate a geometry prior. so you are aware about what you analyze and can than use the analyzed values to inform your project. So if you use automatical generated mesh geometry, it just deliver a image which you can not use further and in the end can not bring you to the point you want to reach.

According your question if you have to use GH or rhino. No you do not have to use this softwares, but with our linkage you have the adavantage of a fluent linkage for informing your project.

Thank you uto,

but I think my question is much easier. I have notice that the geometry that geco conect to ecotect has to be a mesh. I wonder if there is a way for not visualizing the polygons that the triangulation makes.

I have seen that in the video you have at vimeo, there are not triangles,
do I have to change something at ecotect? or is it a property of the meshes?

Thanks for the patience,

Hi estrellita

we created the mesh in that fashion ( meshes in rhino can be created with triangles and or quad)

And again i really recommend you to create a clean mesh out of your project

cheers,

Thank you uto,
I undestand... I was trying to use a models built in autocad and sketchup, but I will make them in rhino or grasshopper! don't you worry!
Keep in touch
