ecologic/organic/biologic and/or engineered spaceframe (help)

hi all.

for a number of years i have wanted to do a spaceframe version of a selection from a set of models that i was working upon that is based upon prior research into mathematical singularities.

right now i have been looking at a. tedeschi's "ecologic", g. jahn's "organic" and the work of K. grcic:

many years ago i tried to use david's pointsetreconstruction tools to do a sort of "voronoi fill" (the model is simply a surface of tris) and while i was able to do a set of manual boolean experiments i would really love to do a scripted version of this envelope similar to the above images:

anyone able to help with getting this sculpture off the ground? i am trying to finalize an organization of about five years worth of work so as to get it out of my head and into the real world...
