Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello.

I´m working on grasshopper for two years now. One of my biggest weaknesses in using this program is working with meshes.

I would like to learn how to weld diffrent meshes and how to do dynamic remeshing. So I would like to ask if anybody can give me some keywords in this topic to search for, or maybe some links to papers or good tutorials. I feel a bit lost.

Wich are currently good components for working with meshes?

There are so many, I don´t know with wich to start.

Any help much appreciated.

Best wishes,

Oliver

Probably there is only one that does decent job within fast computing time - kangaroo 1 mesh machine.

In rhino 6 there will be quad remeshing but nobody knows when weekly rhino wip releases stop and rhino 6 will be published.

Evolute also does great remeshing but for that you will need to empty your pockets.

Many thanks for recommending EvoluteTools T.MAP. You can try it for free for 14 days. We also have aneducational licensing option for T.MAP

Thanks a lot! Then I will start with Kangaroo and mesh machine and try evolute! Maybe things are clearer then for me.

Best wishes,

Oliver

So I tried to install Kangaroo 0.099. Because it is the last version wich includes mesh machine right?

I also read about Plankton.

The Problem is I cant install it right.

I know about the tricks of unblocking the files and to load in the right folder. I too have nowhere any copies of the files.

I also sent some pics of my error messages.

Any help much appreciated.

Hi Oliver,

Can you show which .gha and .dll files you have in your libraries folder

Thanks for asking. Hope it helps.

Mm, I'm sorry I'm not sure what is wrong then - it seems the main Kangaroo dll is not loading. With those files all unblocked it should work. It's worth double checking each of the gha/dll files individually, and checking that the copy in the downloads folder is removed. Also Rhino needs to be restarted after installing.

Ok well thank you anyway. Maybe there is still one blocked file.

I will try once again tomorrow. Maybe it will work then.

Best wishes, Oliver
