Don't understand shatter comand

I just don't understand what the shatter command is doing.

 

I want to divide a curve into numerous, random length sections.

 

My points are not falling on the curve.

Hi Greg,

 

Curves do not necessarily have a domain from 0 to 1 so use an Evaluate component make use of the reparameterise option of the input for the curve to then supply t values to the shatter component.
