divide curve with different distances between points

Hello,

I'm student in architecture and begin with grasshopper.

I would like to know if there is a possibility to divide a curve with different distances between points.

The idea is to link these points with a line. like in this exemple:

I've done it with the box "Divdist" and the box "Item" to choose only the first number of each list of points because the box "Divdist" divide the curve 17 times in this example with the 17 distances

I gave.

It works but the problem is that tha asks to calculate a lot of points for nothing and when I want to use it on a bigger file it doesn't work anymore.

If someone as any idea??

Sorry for my english..

Finally, I find a solution... I don't need to divide the curve, I just need to put some point on it with the box "evaluate lenght". And it's really easier for the computer. :)
Hi eric!
Could you please share this definition with me... I could not get it work.
thanks
