distorted structure grid

hi guys,
i am trying to make a grid structure for a double curved surface in my project. i do understand that the depth of my beams should vary depending on the degree of curvature of the surfaces at each point. so far, i have been able to develop the grid lines and offset the surface, however, my offset is equal and i will like to make this vary?
