Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone,

I'm attempting to make a diagrid from a collection of points with no success. I have what I believe is an adequate number of points but I cannot select them appropriately with any of the item selection or cull components.

I either want to be able to define individual triangular edges or individual surfaces from the point/curve collection that I have attached -- not simply pipe.

Is there any way to do this without resorting to a mesh solution or plug-in.

Any help would be much appreciated, as always.

i think you'd better make surface or mesh, then extract its curve, suggest using LUNCHBOX or MINIMAL SRF for making srf. or kangaroo for making mesh....

the extract isocurve from srf or face from mesh...ot would be really easy then....

Thank you for your suggestions Mobin.

Actually, I already have a surface that corresponds to to what the points could be/should be describing. But at a fundamental level I need to be able to select points as needed much like I would do by hand if I were sketching over a drawing that contained the same information. If I cannot access data in a consistent/predictable way then the software becomes an albatross instead of an advantage.

I have a collection of points that I want to work with and I need to be able to select them either individually or in sets (say every third point on each path, or every other point if i collapse the data into a single path). Is this possible with the data that I have? In the end I may not have the surfaces that I'm after but at least I will be able to understand how the data is able or not able to match up with each other and plan accordingly next time.

Is there a more elegant way of accomplishing this? I feel like the solution I came up with is a bit circuitous.
