Define if point is selected on surface in Rhino inside Grasshopper

Is there a way to determine which points on a surface are currently selected in Grasshopper. That is, in Rhino I can select a collection of points on a surface for editing, I can input that surface into Grasshopper. Is there as way in Grasshopper to then determine which points on that surface are currently selected in Rhino? I am still struggling with Grasshopper (Rhino) object tree structure, but can't seem to find any way to do this determination. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
